On December 12th Beijing time, insider Fischer reported that the Warriors are only ready to trade Green to get Antetokounmpo, and another insider Siegel followed up saying the Warriors have no current plans to trade Green.

Fischer stated: "From my perspective, only one player in the league could convince the Warriors to part with Green, and that player is Antetokounmpo. No other player. Packaging Green, Kuminga, and Pobemski might be an appealing offer for the Bucks, but unless it’s for Antetokounmpo, I don’t think the Warriors would casually put Green’s contract on the table—same goes for Butler’s contract."

Siegel shared Fischer’s report and commented: "I honestly don’t know how many times this needs to be emphasized: the Warriors will absolutely not trade Green. As we previously reported, such a trade would require the unanimous agreement of Green, Kerr, and Curry, and Green himself must be the one initiating the desire to leave."
US media Heavy later commented that Green’s importance to the Warriors is multi-dimensional, which is already a well-known fact. He remains one of the league’s smartest defensive players and the on-court commander of many Warriors championship lineups. His decision-making still empowers Curry’s performance. His value can’t be measured solely by stats but is reflected in team structure, offensive and defensive rhythm, and clutch moment control.

However, we must also confront the other side of the issue. Now in his early thirties, Green’s offensive impact has declined. Opponents are more willing to leave him open defensively, and his shooting consistency has never been reliable.
These realities are factors the Warriors must consider in their long-term planning. Green is the team’s emotional leader and defensive anchor, but it’s undeniable that he is aging, and the Warriors’ roster is currently undergoing a transition between old and new.

Amid the trade rumors surrounding Antetokounmpo, the strong bond between Curry and Green on the Warriors faces an unprecedented test. This is the core issue behind all the rumors worth discussing. The Warriors’ foundation has always been loyalty to their core stars. Green and Curry formed one of the most synergistic duos in NBA history, winning four championships together and profoundly influencing a generation’s basketball philosophy.
Meanwhile, the team’s management is well aware of the harsh realities of the Western Conference. The Warriors’ roster is aging with shrinking margin for error, and Curry’s prime won’t last forever. If the chance arises to pair Curry with a peak-level two-way superstar like Antetokounmpo, it would force the team to undertake a difficult and honest deep evaluation.
