On November 15th Beijing time, TMZ Sports reported that ex-NBA player Patrick Beverly was detained in Texas on a felony assault charge. The 1.88-meter point guard was held on Friday at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office in Richmond, Texas.

Jail records indicate Beverly faces charges of "assaulting a family or household member and impeding their breathing or circulation," classified as a third-degree felony. His bail was set at $40,000, which has been paid, and he is expected to be released later that evening.
Beverly was a second-round draft pick who has played for teams including the Rockets, Clippers, Timberwolves, Lakers, Bulls, and 76ers, with his most recent stint being with the Bucks. He also competed overseas, earning accolades such as the UBL Slam Dunk Contest title, the 2011 Russian Cup championship, and the 2012 EuroCup MVP. His last team was Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Club.
Last year, after a controversial end to his career with the Bucks, Beverly left the NBA and joined Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. In February this year, after being benched during a championship loss, he mocked coach Dimitris Itoudis on social media, leading to a suspension and a negotiated contract termination.

Beverly’s arrest occurred just months after he got engaged to his model girlfriend Mandana — the proposal took place during a romantic vacation where he successfully popped the question.
Since 2021, Beverly has been in a relationship with 31-year-old fashion model, entrepreneur, and social media influencer Mandana, reportedly met during his time with the Clippers in California. Mandana has over a million followers on Instagram, was born in Iran, lived in Dubai, and has recently settled in Los Angeles.

Beverly was also sued by two women over a heated sideline incident near the end of his tenure with the Bucks: after a playoff loss to the Indiana Pacers, he lost his temper and threw a basketball at opposing fans, striking a woman on the side of her head. The NBA suspended him for four games, but he left the Bucks immediately after and has yet to serve the suspension.
This week, Klay Thompson harshly criticized Beverly and former NBA star Jason Williams, calling their podcast comments about his girlfriend Megan “disgusting and disturbing.”
