In a surprising thriller, the NBA's second-best team narrowly defeated a Wizards team that dropped to an NBA-worst 1-10 following their ninth straight loss.

"We understood how crucial this game was for us," Jenkins commented. "We weren't going to let anything stop us from securing this win."

Cunningham shot 14-of-45 for a career-best 46 points, adding 12 rebounds, 11 assists, five steals, and two blocks as Detroit improved to 9-2.

"He's the one who will lead this team no matter what," Detroit's Jalen Duren said about Cunningham. "Seeing him battle through and perform at such a high level gave us confidence."

Jenkins came off the bench to score a career-high 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Duren contributed 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Pistons.

C.J. McCollum, who led Washington with 42 points, made a floater with 14 seconds left to put the Wizards ahead 126-121.

However, Jenkins, who had missed the previous three games, nailed a three-pointer with three seconds left and, after a Kyshawn George free throw for Washington, hit another three at the buzzer to tie the game 127-127 and force overtime.

"I told myself if I got the ball, I was going to shoot it," Jenkins said. "He trusted me and passed it, and it went in."

"I know my abilities. I just had to believe in myself and trust my preparation."

Duren spoke about Jenkins: "He never backs down in big moments. He's destined to be a great player in this league, and tonight proved it."

During the overtime, Duncan Robinson's three-pointer put Detroit ahead, and Green's dunk extended the lead to 136-133 with 25 seconds left.

George scored a layup for the Wizards, but Duren made a free throw to seal the final score. McCollum missed two three-point attempts in the final seconds, allowing the Pistons to secure the win.

In another overtime thriller, Norman Powell put up 33 points and Andrew Wiggins added 23 points, including the winning dunk at the overtime buzzer, leading Miami to a 140-138 victory over
