National Games Quarterfinals - Zhou Qi scores 33 points and 13 rebounds, Hu Jinqiu adds 24 points, Fang Shuo nets 19 points, Sichuan easily defeats Beijing to reach the semifinals

On November 10th, during the 15th National Games men’s basketball adult knockout stage, Sichuan faced Beijing. There was a clear difference in team strength, as Sichuan secured an 89-76 victory over Beijing to move on to the semifinals. Sichuan’s key players were Zhou Qi with 33 points and 13 rebounds, Hu Jinqiu with 24 points and 4 rebounds, and Sun Minghui contributing 17 points, 8 assists, and 4 steals; Beijing’s main scorers were Fang Shuo with 19 points, Wang Shaojie with 17 points and 4 rebounds, and Zhai Xiaochuan with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

In the first half, the Sichuan team, built around players from Guangsha, saw Sun Minghui, Wu Xiao, and Hu Jinqiu score consecutively, while Zhao Jiaren hit a three-pointer from outside. Sichuan quickly took the lead. Raymond made several three-point attempts, and Fang Shuo and Zhai Xiaochuan kept narrowing the gap. After the first quarter, Beijing trailed Sichuan 21-25. In the second quarter, both teams’ shooting percentages dropped, and despite Beijing’s tough defense, Sichuan maintained a slim lead, going into halftime ahead 41-37.

In the second half, Sichuan intensified their efforts, starting with an 8-2 run that forced a timeout from Beijing. After the break, Fan Ziming scored inside against Zhou Qi, and Zhang Fan hit a three-pointer, but the margin remained around 10 points. Near the end of the quarter, Zhang Fan’s long-range shot helped Beijing close in, but Hu Jinqiu and Sun Minghui responded quickly. After three quarters, Sichuan led 64-54. In the final quarter, Zhou Qi and Hu Jinqiu dominated the paint, extending the lead. Wang Shaojie scored under the basket, and Fang Shuo hit a three-pointer from the top of the key. However, Hu Jinqiu and Zhou Qi were unstoppable inside, finishing strong to secure the win. Sichuan ultimately defeated Beijing 89-76 to advance to the semifinals with ease.
