What a pity! Two-time All-Star Oladipo will compete in the G League, having previously played for the Guangzhou Loong Lions in the preseason.

As reported by Fischer on November 8th Beijing time, two-time NBA All-Star Oladipo has officially joined the G League player pool, aiming to extend his career in the development league.

Because G League teams are required to confirm their rosters one day prior to the season opener, newly signed players initially enter the player pool, allowing teams to file claims on players within the pool.

The 33-year-old Oladipo recently played for the Guangzhou Loong Lions in the CBA, participating in NBA preseason games last month against teams like the Spurs and Clippers.

In the October 7th preseason game against the Spurs, Oladipo played 29 minutes, scoring 20 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and making 5 steals. Three days later against the Clippers, he performed even better, shooting 8 of 12 in 27 minutes to tally 24 points, along with 5 assists and 2 steals.

Oladipo’s last NBA stint was during the 2022-23 season with the Miami Heat. He appeared in 42 regular-season games but suffered a patellar tendon rupture in Game 3 of the first-round playoff series against the Bucks.

This injury sidelined Oladipo for the entire 2023-24 season and kept him out of the 2024-25 season as well. His game on October 7th representing Guangzhou marked his first official match in 30 months.

“It feels amazing to be back on the court,” Oladipo said in an interview. “I know it’s been two and a half years, almost three. Being able to compete again with the best opponents is truly exciting.”

During the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons with the Pacers, Oladipo was selected as an All-Star for two consecutive years. From 2013 to 2023, he played for five NBA teams over 10 seasons, averaging 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game throughout his career.

The 2025-26 G League season will kick off today, with 10 games scheduled on the opening day.
