Former Laker Wood faced a home invasion robbery! Fired three shots to scare off suspects; both property and people are safe.

According to local news on November 7th Beijing time, former Laker Wood was involved in a home invasion robbery on Wednesday local time at a Sherman Oaks residence, where he fired shots immediately to scare off the intruders.

The Los Angeles Police confirmed that around 1 p.m., three suspects entered a home in the 14800 block of Ottergo Street through the back door while former Laker forward Christian Wood was present inside.

The robbery suspects encountered Wood, who was armed, and Wood fired three shots into the ground, frightening the intruders away.

Investigators stated that the suspects remain at large and were last seen fleeing along Ottergo Street toward Sepulveda Boulevard in a gray Jeep Cherokee.

That afternoon, police searched the scene for evidence while the Sky5 helicopter captured aerial footage of the area.

So far, no reports indicate any property was stolen or anyone was injured inside the residence.

Wood, 30 years old, is currently unsigned by any NBA team. An undrafted player, he has played 339 NBA regular-season games, averaging 13.6 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 51.4% and a three-point percentage of 37.2%. Over his 8-year NBA career, Wood has been part of eight teams: the 76ers, Hornets, Bucks, Pelicans, Pistons, Rockets, Mavericks, and Lakers.

During the 2023-24 season, he appeared in 50 games for the Lakers, averaging 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds, missing many games due to injuries.
