On November 7th Beijing time, Brian Lewis from the New York Post reported that during the first quarter of the Nets' game against the Pacers yesterday, guard Cam Thomas suffered a left hamstring injury again, the same injury that restricted him to only 25 games last season.

Lewis wrote that Thomas seemed to have been hurt following a jump shot. He was able to walk off the court by himself but did not return to the game, which the team eventually won. The official diagnosis was a left hamstring strain.
Lewis pointed out that Thomas has injured the same hamstring three times in the 2024-25 season. The 24-year-old became a restricted free agent during the offseason and accepted a $6 million qualifying offer, making him eligible for unrestricted free agency in 2026. If he misses many games again this season due to hamstring issues, his anticipated big contract could be at risk.

Head coach Fernandez stated that Thomas will undergo further evaluation today.
“He’s doing okay right now, and we will reassess,” Fernandez said. “But he was great in the locker room, and we miss him. This team needs his offensive aggressiveness.”
“In fact, when an injured player can still support the team, it always helps. He was very happy about this win. So we hope he returns soon, but if not, we will do everything possible. His health is our priority, and if needed, we will rely on substitutes to step up.”

So far this season, Thomas has played 8 games, averaging 21.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 40.2% and a three-point percentage of 35.6%. The Nets stand at 1 win and 7 losses, ranked 13th in the Eastern Conference.
