Narrow escape! Zhou Qi scores 28+10, Hu Jinqiu 22+13, Sichuan dominates Henan despite 9 turnovers in the first half

On November 5th, in the 15th National Games men's basketball group match, Sichuan played against Henan. Despite having 9 turnovers in the first half and 15 overall, Sichuan won decisively with a 94-70 score. Zhou Qi led Sichuan with 28 points and 10 rebounds, Hu Jinqiu added 22 points and 13 rebounds, Zhao Yanhao scored 10 points, and Jing Hanyi contributed 12 points and rebounds; for Henan, Han Peiyu had 17 points and 5 rebounds, Cui Xiaolong 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Jiang Yuxing 12 points and 3 assists.

In the first half, Sichuan started strong as Sun Minghui scored twice with aggressive drives to take the lead. Henan quickly responded, using teamwork to surge ahead by 8 points at one stage. Seeing the momentum shift, Sichuan’s Zhou Qi and Hu Jinqiu took turns on the court and managed to tie the game midway through the second quarter. Zhao Yanhao attacked both inside and outside, Zhou Qi dominated inside scoring continuously, and Jing Hanyi hit a buzzer-beater three-pointer. Sichuan led Henan 46-39 at halftime.

In the second half, Sichuan extended their lead with a 6-0 run. Henan struggled inside against Sichuan’s strong presence and had to rely on outside shots to catch up. However, Zhou Qi and Hu Jinqiu controlled the paint, helping Sichuan maintain a double-digit advantage. In the final quarter, Henan remained powerless against Sichuan’s twin towers, and the outstanding Han Peiyu fouled out with five fouls. Henan lost all shooting rhythm in the last period, scoring very few points, and ultimately fell 70-94 to Sichuan.
