Trail Blazers officially announce the demotion of Yang Hansen! He will train in the Development League and return to face the Lakers in two days.

On November 2nd Beijing time, the Trail Blazers officially announced that center Yang Hansen has been sent down to the Rip City Remix, their Development League team, for regular training.

According to Trail Blazers reporter Highkin, sources informed that the team arranged for Yang Hansen to join the Remix this weekend to gain additional training minutes, and he will return to the main squad to participate in the game against the Lakers (Tuesday Beijing time). Another reporter, Marang, noted that if Yang’s playing time remains limited with the Trail Blazers, he is expected to shuttle frequently between the two teams this season.

In the first five games of this season, Yang Hansen’s playing time was already limited, and he did not get any minutes in the key match where the Trail Blazers narrowly defeated the Nuggets 109-107.

At the start of the season, Yang Hansen was part of the rotation as a backup center but his performance was underwhelming. So far, he has averaged only 1.8 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.4 blocks in 5.8 minutes per game.

With Robert Williams returning from injury and making his long-awaited season debut against the Nuggets, this experienced center has taken over the backup center role previously held by Yang Hansen.

Reporter Freeman stated that the Trail Blazers still have confidence in Yang Hansen’s potential, but like most rookies, the team believes he needs more in-game experience to develop. In modern NBA, formal team practices are rare.

“I told him from the start, this is a marathon,” said interim Trail Blazers coach Sprewell before the Nuggets game. “It’s not about one game, five games, or ten games; you have to be patient. You need to learn the pace of this league. So far, we have given him some playing time to gain experience.
