Harden is confident that his physical condition is the best of his career! He revealed that Kawhi’s performance has reached its peak, and the training camp chemistry has improved.

On October 5th Beijing time, the Clippers' training camp continued, and Harden and Collins were interviewed after practice.

Before the official Clippers training camp started, Harden hosted a mini camp in Arizona. Regarding this, Harden said, “This mini camp was primarily arranged for the veterans on the team, including Collins, Lopez, Paul, Dunn, and Beal. The goal was to bring everyone together and enhance communication among us... That’s the core purpose of the camp. The more time players spend together off the court, the better the chemistry, which directly translates into better teamwork on the court... I think this is a great start for our team.”

Harden had said before last year’s training camp that his physical condition was the best he had in years. He now claims that his condition this year is even better. He emphasized that his training has always been intense and that he never reduces intensity to ease game load.

“I’ve done even more this year because we have to start the new season very strongly. The competition in our division is extremely tough... By the end of the regular season, we want to be in a favorable position to advance further in the playoffs. So, a strong start is crucial for us. And it all begins with me and Kawhi Leonard.”

Regarding Leonard’s current condition, Harden said, “He is now performing at a level that matches the season. He has been training all summer and playing with great aggressiveness. He looks like he’s at his peak, which is very beneficial for our team. People used to ask, ‘When will Leonard get back to form?’ or had other doubts. But now he’s here, and his condition is extremely, extremely good. Our entire team’s status is also very, very strong.”

New Clippers addition Collins also gave an interview. He mentioned that he admires the Clippers’ culture of responsibility. “The atmosphere here is strong. We have Paul, Harden, Leonard, and Lopez, who is a champion. Everyone on our team shares that mindset. Seeing them come to practice seriously every day and how they communicate with me shows this clearly. Their expectations and the responsibilities they want me to take on in games are higher than anything I’ve experienced before. For me, focusing and working harder in training is no problem at all. Most importantly, having these teammates support me makes me very happy. I also hope to win a championship ring under their leadership.”

When asked about the competition for the last starting spot in the Clippers’ training camp, Collins said, “I think there is always competition for starting roles... I believe you have to earn it through your own effort, no matter where you are or which team you play for. Whether it’s me or others, I’m ready to take on the challenge.”

When asked if the starting position is important, Collins clearly stated, “It’s somewhat important. But ultimately, it’s not that critical. Whatever role I play on the court, as long as I can contribute my best and most efficient effort, and it benefits the team the most, that’s what truly matters. Starting is great, but that’s all there is to it.”
