Kuminga has switched to jersey number 1 and hopes to stay with the Warriors long-term! Is a starting spot imminent? Little Curry jokes about being denied number 30

On October 3rd Beijing time, the Warriors' training camp progressed, with Kuminga officially appearing and taking part in some of the team’s internal scrimmages. Team insiders noted that Kuminga, who wore 00 last season, has switched to jersey number 1. The Warriors’ official account posted pictures of Kuminga smiling during training.

When a reporter asked Kuminga if he hopes to stay with the Warriors for the long run, he answered: “I’m here now. (Staying long-term) That’s everyone’s goal.” When asked if he thinks the Warriors also want to keep him long-term, Kuminga responded: “Judging by them bringing me back (re-signing me), I believe that’s the case.”

In today’s Warriors intra-squad scrimmage, the blue team featured Curry, Poolejumski, Butler, Draymond, and Horford, which is expected to be the Warriors’ starting lineup for the new season. It’s reported that Payton also joined the blue team for training today, while Poolejumski appeared on the white team yesterday. Coach Kerr specifically praised Poolejumski’s performance in today’s practice, saying he “looked more composed and confident when shooting.”

Kerr mentioned that Kuminga only participated in half of the scrimmage because he hadn’t returned to the team until a few days ago. Kuminga’s performance on the court was good, and his physical condition appeared excellent.

Seth Curry also showed up at the training camp but did not participate in the scrimmage as he is still in the adjustment phase. Speaking about playing alongside his brother, Seth said: “It’s definitely special. For both of our careers, it couldn’t be better timing for me to be here (playing with him).”

Seth Curry stated that over the past 16 years, he has probably watched 95% of Warriors games. In the interview, he joked that he once tried to buy Stephen Curry’s number 30 jersey: “I tried to buy that number, but he said he’s not short on money. Also, I think the NBA wouldn’t approve that anyway.”

Former NBA referee Joey Crawford appeared at the Warriors’ training site and, as part of the league’s program, explained officiating rules to the team. Kerr joked that out of “nostalgia,” Crawford even gave Draymond a few technical fouls just like old times.

Kerr also stated that this season there are rule changes regarding “block defense” calls aimed at protecting shooters, and Curry is expected to benefit from these adjustments.
