Zeng Fanri has signed with the Jilin team.

According to the latest report from a well-known domestic basketball platform,Zeng Fanri has reached a two-year agreement with the Jilin team, to be officially announced during the November window this year.

In the past two seasons (23-25), Zeng Fanri played for the Tongxi team, and last season he helped the team advance to the playoffs for the first time in their history. He averaged 6.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in the regular season with a shooting percentage of 53.9%; in the playoffs, he averaged 9.5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal per game, shooting at 66.7%.

During this summer’s off-season, after failing to renew his contract with Tongxi, the team generously waived the training compensation, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. This enabled him to successfully sign with Jilin and participate in the 25-26 season as planned.

Before joining Tongxi, Zeng Fanri spent seven seasons with the Guangdong team, although he only played six seasons due to sitting out the entire 22-23 season. During that time, he won three championships, primarily serving as a rotational player in the interior.

After leaving Guangdong, Zeng Fanri seemed to let loose a bit, even openly responding to the widely known joke from his old team days about "being tougher."

In a 2023 game, Zeng Fanri even had a confrontation with his longtime Guangdong teammate Ren Junfei, where they pointed fingers and exchanged harsh words, showing no regard for their past friendship, more like bitter enemies.

Speaking of Ren Junfei, he is not listed on Guangdong’s domestic player roster for the 25-26 season, which implies retirement after a 16-year career. During that time, he won six championships and was named Best Sixth Man twice (in 21-22 and 24-25). Perhaps in the new season, the 35-year-old Ren Junfei will return to the court as a member of the coaching staff.

In summary, all good things must come to an end. The familiar Guangdong team is gone forever—some retired, some transferred, replaced by more and more new faces. But this is inevitable, and acceptance is the only option!
