Before the Rockets announced the roster, VanVleet updated his social media stating he has completed knee surgery and will soon begin rehabilitation. The Rockets also confirmed that the training camp will be held from October 1 to October 6 (all times Beijing time) at the Rockets Training Center. The team’s media day is scheduled for September 30 at the Toyota Center.
The Rockets will start their preseason with two home games: on October 7 at the Toyota Center against the Atlanta Hawks, and on October 9 hosting the Utah Jazz. Afterwards, the team will travel to Birmingham, Alabama on October 15 to face the New Orleans Pelicans, and then play an away game against the Hawks on October 17 to conclude the preseason.
The Rockets’ first regular season game in 2025-26 is set for October 22, an away match against the Oklahoma City Thunder; their first home game will be on October 25 against the Detroit Pistons.
