Yao Ming chats casually with Kuzma: His favorite American city is Philadelphia; Yang Hansen is smart and very talented.

On August 23rd Beijing time, Kuzma posted a video of his meeting and chat with Yao Ming during his visit to China. In the footage, Yao disclosed that Philadelphia is his favorite city in the U.S., and he also spoke with Kuzma about Yang Hansen, who is playing for the Trail Blazers.

They began by talking about Houston, where Yao used to play for the Rockets. "I don’t visit much these days, but I’m planning to go back eventually. When I played in Houston before, my schedule was fully packed — training, games, airports, hotels — I never had a chance to slow down and really experience the city," Yao said. "Houston has changed a lot compared to 2002, 2005, and 2008."

Kuzma asked Yao which American city he liked best, and Yao answered "Philadelphia." When explaining why, Yao said, "Because of the cheesesteaks there. In my first year in the NBA, my teammate Mobley was from Philadelphia, and he got me hooked on cheesesteaks. Also, I love museums. Chicago’s museums are great too, but Philadelphia not only has excellent museums, it also has the Navy Yard — which protects the entire coastline and can be considered a kind of 'museum' itself."

Kuzma also brought up Yang Hansen, and Yao taught Kuzma how to pronounce his name. "You still haven’t learned how to say his name? It’s actually simple. The 'Yang' sounds like the 'Yang' in 'Nick Young.' 'Hansen' in English sounds like 'handsome,' but in China, it means something completely different — knowledgeable, like a forest."

Yao continued, "He’s very intelligent and only 20 years old. I first heard about him about five years ago when we selected him for the national youth team to play in some Asian youth championships, and later he participated in the FIBA World Youth Championships."He’s very gifted, with excellent ball-handling skills, a sharp mind, and outstanding court vision.Kuzma also said he has watched Hansen’s games and thinks his passing is exceptional.
