As reported by a prominent Chinese basketball outlet,Jiang Yuxing is set to join Liaoning on a 2+1 type C contract, with Jilin acquiring Liu Yanyu (on loan for three years), Zhao Shuizhou (permanent move), and part of the deal paid in cash.

Born on January 6, 1995, Jiang Yuxing was the No. 1 pick in the 2018 draft. The 1.92-meter swingman has spent seven seasons with Jilin. At his peak (2022-23), he averaged 41 minutes, 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, shooting an impressive 57.6%. He was an All-Star in 2020-21 and made the All-Domestic Second Team in both 2019-20 and 2021-22.

His biggest weakness is his almost nonexistent shooting ability—he has never averaged even one three-pointer per game in any season and poses minimal threat from outside. He excels at fast breaks and attacking the paint, much like Guo Ailun.

Regardless, Jiang Yuxing's arrival will significantly boost Liaoning's roster depth. He can pair with Zhao Jiwei in the backcourt, team up with Zhang Zhenlin on the wing, or even play the role of a super sixth man, giving the team more confidence in their championship pursuit for the upcoming season.

Last season, due to injuries and an aging lineup, Liaoning finished the regular season with a 32-14 record, ranking fourth in the league. They swept Xinjiang 3-0 in the playoffs but were then swept 3-0 by the new champions Zhejiang Guangsha in the semifinals, missing out on a potential four-peat.

This summer, Liaoning has undergone significant changes. Not only did they bring in Jiang Yuxing, but they also re-signed three-time champion import Morand, while letting go of three-time champion guard Fogg.
