Yusei Kikuchi was hit hard by his former team, the Mariners, allowing 3 hits and 2 home runs, and he didn't complete 5 innings for the first time this season.

This was Yusei Kikuchi's first encounter with the Seattle Mariners since joining the Los Angeles Angels, the team he debuted with in Major League Baseball. He was just one out away from finishing 5 innings but gave up 3 hits, including two home runs, resulting in 3 earned runs. The Angels ultimately lost 2-4 to the Mariners, marking Kikuchi's 7th loss of the season.

In the first inning, with one out, Kikuchi allowed a hit to J-Rod (Julio Rodriguez). He then threw a wild pitch against the league's home run leader, Cal Raleigh, allowing J-Rod to reach scoring position. Raleigh subsequently walked, and with both runners on base, they executed a double steal to take second and third. Kikuchi managed to secure two outs to escape the scoring threat. In the bottom of the first, the Angels scored first with two hits, leading 1-0.

In the second inning, Kikuchi struck out two batters, achieving the first 1-2-3 inning of the game. In the third inning, he allowed a hit with one out but secured two outs to leave the Mariners stranded. In the fourth inning, after allowing a walk and a hit with two outs, he faced another scoring threat but managed to escape. In the fifth inning, with two outs, he allowed a game-tying homer by J-Rod, followed by a hit from Raleigh, and then Randy Arozarena hit a two-run homer to take the lead, leading to Kikuchi's exit after allowing another double.
