The Los Angeles Angels are about to pull the number one rookie Moore to the major leagues

According to MLB.com reporter Rhett Bollinger's pre-match sources today, the Angels will call up number one rookie Christian Moore. The second baseman, who was named No. 1 on the team's farm and No. 56 in the Top 100 Rookies by MLB Pipeline, will appear in the opening game of the series against the Orioles tomorrow at Baltimore.

The team has not officially confirmed the news.

Moore is the 8th pick in the first round of the Angels' 2024 draft (from the University of Tennessee). Last year, the attack index of 25 games in the two tiers was 0.984, and this season it started from 2A Rocket City (34 games with an attack index of 0.665), and after rising to 3A Salt Lake City on May 20, the attack index was 0.999 with 4 hits.

The move continues the Angels' high-pick rookie pattern: Zach Neto (from Campbell), a 13th pick in 2022, became the first league player in his class to rise to the league (April 2023); Nolan Schanuel, the 11th pick in 2023 from Florida Atlantic University, was promoted to the league less than six weeks after the draft.

Moore will be the fifth player to be promoted to the League in the Class of 2024, with Jac Caglianone the latest to make his debut. Angels pitcher Ryan Johnson (now in the minor league) debuted without a minor league debut.

As a young man, Moore was involved in several MLB development programs: including the Dream Series (2018-20), the Breakthrough Series (2018-19), and the Hank Allen Invitational (2019).

His major league debut will be a reunion with familiar faces — Angels head coach Ron Washington mentored Moore through the MLB Development Program as a teenager.
