Mixed Doubles powerhouse Kiquel/Drew made French history at the 2025 Indonesia Badminton Super 1000

French mixed doubles powerhouse Giqueill and Drew made French badminton history at the 2025 Indonesia Badminton Super 1000, becoming the first French players to win the tournament.

France's world No. 10 Giqueill and Drew defeated Thailand's world No. 6 "Desu Pair" Dechapo and Subisara for the first time in the first mixed doubles final 21-16, 21-18 local time on the 8th, not only ending the 2-game losing streak against this Thai powerhouse, but also winning the first Super 1000 championship in their careers!

Gicquell and Drew's previous best results on the World Tour were the 2021 Swiss Badminton Super 300 champions, but the 2023 China Badminton Super 1000 Finals and this year's India Badminton Super 750 Finals have fallen short. This is the first time that a French player has won the Indonesia Open Badminton Championships since its inaugural event in 1982. Dechapo and Subisara, on the other hand, failed to win their second Super 1000 title after winning the Malaysian Badminton Super 1000 in January.
