Among them, Astana of Kazakhstan won the right to host the 2027 World Table Tennis Championships, Fukuoka of Japan won the right to host the 2028 World Table Tennis Championships team event, and the 2029 World Table Tennis Championships won the right to host the 2029 World Table Tennis Championships individual event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Last Tokyo 2014 World Table Tennis Championships held in Japan (Team Competition)
On May 26, the day before AGM, the Candidate Association of the host city of the 2027.2028.2029 World Championship gave a presentation. At the 2028 World Table Tennis Championships, Fukuoka (Japan) and Italy gave speeches as candidates, and Italy announced the withdrawal of its bid in support of Japan. The AGM on May 27 voted to confirm that Fukuoka will be the venue for the 2028 World Championships. The venue is currently being reorganized at the Fukuoka Marin Exhibition Center, Fukuoka and other places.
Fukuoka, Japan, won the right to host the 2028 World Table Tennis Championships team event, which is the eighth time that Japan has hosted the World Table Tennis Championships and the first since the 2014 Tokyo Games (team competition).

In addition to the eventual winner Astana (Kazakhstan), Montpellier (France) and San Jose (USA) also bid for the right to host the 2027 World Table Tennis Championships. In the first round of voting, none of the three cities received more than 50% of the votes, and Astana and Montpellier voted for the decisive battle, and Astana was selected as the host city.
At the 2029 World Table Tennis Championships, Berlin (Germany), China, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and San Jose (USA) competed. In the first and second votes, no venue was decided, and in the third vote, Rio de Janeiro and China fought the ultimate battle, and as a result, Rio de Janeiro became the venue for the 2029 Games. Rio de Janeiro was originally a candidate for the 2027 Games, but in a speech on May 26, it expressed support for hosting the 2027 World Table Tennis Championships in Astana (Kazakhstan), so it withdrew its bid and replaced it with a bid for the 2029 Games. This is the first time that the World Table Tennis Championships have been held in Kazakhstan and Brazil.
