After a week of preparation in Malaysia, Danish world No. 3 men's singles Antonsen suffered a first-round defeat at the 2025 Singapore Badminton Super 750 on the 27th.
Antonsen
Third seed Antonsen failed to win two straight victories against France's former All England top four and European Championships bronze medallist Christopov 17-21, 13-21 in the first round of the men's singles. Antonsen, who finished runner-up in the Thailand Badminton Super 500 two weeks ago, chose to withdraw from last week's Malaysia Badminton Super 500 tournament to concentrate on preparing for the Singapore Open Badminton Championships in Malaysia, and also trained with the Malaysian national badminton team.
Joining his brother Tomapopov in the men's singles round, Kristopov will next face Denmark's Genke or India's veteran Burano. Tomapopov will await the winner of the clash between Singapore's home favourite Loh Kean Yew and France's rising star team-mate Lanier.
