The baseball DNA is already in his bones – the stadium is his second home, and he emerged as a genius at a young age, inheriting the terrifying striking power of his legendary father. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., now the newest superhero in MLB's Heroes of the Game collaboration with top anime creators, has become the "super warrior" of the anime universe alongside superstars such as Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, and Paul Skenes.
The anime hero project landed on MLB's major media platforms on the eve of the season, and plans to gradually expand the hero roster as the season progresses. Recent additions include Philadelphia native Bryce Harper, Royal Bobby Witt Jr., sailor Julio Rodríguez and Mets Juan Soto.
At the age of 26 in March, Guerrero Jr. has amassed 165 hits, and his lineage can be traced back to Hall of Fame father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., the heavy gunner who fired 449 rounds in his 16-year career. The legacy turned into a real threat in the 2024 season, with Greno Jr.'s current Attack Index (OPS) of 0.940, the best since the 2021 American League MVP runner-up.
In this week's cross-conference series against the Padres at the Rogers Center, Greynor Jr. will face off against the San Diego Constellation (Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Jackson Merrill) to add a new chapter to the Heroes of the Game.
