In order to ensure the smooth holding of the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships, South Korea has launched an epidemic prevention and monitoring system

The government of North Gyeongsang Province of South Korea said on the 19th local time that in order to successfully hold the "2025 Asian Athletics Championships", it will start infectious disease (epidemic) prevention and monitoring to strengthen the response system.

2025 Asian Athletics Championships Final Selection

The 2025 Asian Athletics Championships will be held for five days from the 27th at the Gumi Civic Stadium and other venues, with the participation of more than 2,000 delegations and managers from 43 countries (regions).

In order to prevent the import and occurrence of infectious diseases in advance, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province will operate a daily monitoring system for infectious diseases from the 22nd to the 31st day after the end of the competition, and maintain a 24-hour emergency epidemic prevention system.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Province previously stated that in the on-site inspection conducted by the Disease Control Agency, the comprehensive risk assessment was shown to be at a normal level, confirming that the probability of infectious diseases is low and will not directly affect the operation of the event. In addition, the virus was monitored at the event venues and major accommodation facilities related to the Asian Championships, and the results confirmed that all of them were safe. Yoo Jeong-geun, director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Welfare and Health Bureau, said, "We will continue to monitor the epidemic and respond thoroughly to prevent and manage the epidemic after it occurs." ”
