The Yankees trailed for most of the game thanks to several great performances from Seattle Mariners' Julio Rodríguez, with the Mariners' midfielders stealing a Trent Grisham home run in the third inning and returning two points.
Seattle starting pitcher Luis Castillo hit six hits in six innings and lost just one point, but the Yankees leveled the score at 2-2 in the seventh inning when Paul Goldschmidt hit a home run for the equalizer.
Aaron Judge then shined in the next inning, becoming MLB's batting average and home run leader, and Carlos Vargas (1-3) threw a slider that was thumped by Aaron Judge.
Bullpen pitcher Ian Hamilton (1-0) claimed his first win of the year and finisher Luke Weaver picked up his fourth rescue of the season.
