One of the NBA's most approachable stars, Durant won the 2024/25 Magic Johnson Award

Durant has won the 2024/25 Magic Johnson Award, the second time he has won the award. Each year, the Basketball Writers Association of America awards the Magic Johnson Award to an NBA player who has excelled on the court and who "has demonstrated cooperation and grace in dealing with the media and fans."

Baker, president of the Writers of Professional Basketball Association, said: "We are really excited to present this award to Durant again. Kevin (Durant) has always been one of the NBA's most thoughtful and approachable stars. He always finds time to be interviewed by journalists, whether it's a formal interview or just informal chit-chat, he never shies away from any topic. "He's both eager to dive into the details of a game and keen to discuss the wider issues facing the league. His passion for basketball is evident. โ€

Durant also won the award during the 2010/11 season when he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He became the fourth player to win the Magic Johnson Award twice, the others being Curry, Lillard and Battier. The 36-year-old Durant is a 15th All-Star Game selection in the 2024/25 season, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
