The South Korean team withdrew from the 2025 Malaysia Badminton Super 500 Tournament, and only the libero double gold medalists participated

The South Korean national badminton team, led by Paris 2024 Women's Singles champion Ahn Se Ying, has withdrawn from the Malaysia Badminton Super 500 (Malaysia Badminton Masters) held from 20 to 25 May this year.

The only Korean players left in the list of participants in the Malaysia Badminton Masters are Men's Doubles "Double Golden Man" Kim Ki-jung (left) and Kim Sarang.

Originally, all the main Korean players, including Ahn Se Ying and South Korea's men's doubles powerhouse "Seo Kim Pair" Seo Seung-jae and Kim Won-ho, signed up to participate in the Malaysia Badminton Masters. However, in the registration and qualification list released on the official website of the BWF last week, all players of the Korean national badminton team have collectively retired from the competition on April 9 for unknown reasons.

Among the players who withdrew from this year's Badminton Masters are Women's Singles World No. 1 Ahn Se Ying, Kim Jia Eun, Men's Doubles Seo Seung Jae and Kim Won Ho, Jin Yong and Loh Seng Seong, Women's Doubles Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee, Zheng Na Eun and Lee Yeon Woo, Kim Hye Jung and Kong Hee, Mixed Doubles Qi Dong Joo and Zheng Na Yin, Lee Jong Min and Choi Yoo Hyun.

The only Korean players left in the list are Men's Doubles "Double Golden Heroes" Kim Ki-jeong and Kim Sarang, but they are not Korean national team players. In addition, South Koreans on the waiting list are Yoo Yeon Sung and Kim Young-yi and Hyun So-kyu, who will form a multinational duo with Malaysia's Goh Wee Seung.
