How old is Jordan this year, the No. 1 position in baseball

In 2025, Jordan will be 62 years old. But did you know that Jordan used to play baseball when he was 30 years old! The age timeline of Michael Jordan's baseball career and related key events, we sort it out in chronological order:

1963-1993: Early Background

February 17, 1963: Jordan was born.

1984-1993: Basketball player led the Chicago Bulls to three NBA championships (1991-1993).

1993 (age 30)

Oct. 6: Months after the murder of his father, James Jordan, the 30-year-old, abruptly announces his retirement from the NBA.

Motivation for retiring: Publicly stated that he wanted to try professional baseball in order to fulfill his father's last wish.

1994 (age 31)

February: Signed with the Chicago White Sox and was assigned to the Birmingham Barons, a minor league 2A team, at the age of 31.

April-September (full season):

He played 127 games and was 31 years old.

He batted out 0.202, hit three home runs, stole 30 bases, and made 11 goalkeeping errors.

The media commented that its performance was "below professional standards", but affirmed the rate of improvement.

September: After the season, the White Sox did not promote him to a higher league.

1995 (age 32)

March 2: Jordan announces the end of his baseball career at the age of 32.

March 18: Returns to the NBA with the classic statement "I'm back" to the Chicago Bulls.

Changing careers at the age of 30: Baseball players usually start professional training when they are teenagers, but Jordan interrupted baseball for 14 years (he did not train systematically after college), and at the age of 30, he crossed over the border, and faced great challenges in physical adaptation and technical accumulation.

Season at the age of 31: Competed in minor league 2A (the middle division of professional baseball), with physical and reflexes limited by age, but made up for some of his technical shortcomings with his athletic talent.

Age disadvantage: With the average MLB player at the peak of 25-30 years old, Jordan's attempt is seen as an "anti-aging" challenge.

Personal Growth: A baseball career helped Jordan settle his mindset between the ages of 31-32 and build the mental toughness for his second NBA triple championship (1996-1998, 33-35).
