The Los Angeles Dodgers visited the White House to celebrate their second consecutive World Series title, aiming for a third.

In both 2024 and 2025, the Los Angeles Dodgers deliberately set aside time from their busy calendar to travel to the White House for their title celebration. Their aspiration is that once the season wraps up, they will be invited back for this prestigious recognition next year.

“We’ve achieved something no one has done in twenty-five years—winning back-to-back World Series championships,” said manager Dave Roberts. “And now, our goal is to secure a three-peat.” Team owner and chairman Mark Walter also expressed his pride: “We are incredibly proud of the 2025 team and what they accomplished, and we look forward to returning here at this time next year.”

Today, on the only off day during this East Coast road trip featuring games against the Yankees, Phillies, and Mets, the Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off their back-to-back titles, were honored at the White House. U.S. President Donald Trump greeted the team in the Rose Garden, where the 2024 and 2025 World Series trophies were proudly displayed. This marks the Dodgers’ third visit to the capital in six years. After the ceremony, the team toured the Oval Office and received commemorative challenge coins from Trump. In return, the team presented Trump with a special World Series championship ring and a Dodgers No. 47 jersey with his name on the back.

Legendary pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who retired after last season’s championship but remains with the Dodgers as a special assistant, flew to Washington to celebrate with his former teammates and coaches. His final career appearance came in Game 3 of the World Series, where he escaped a bases-loaded jam in the 12th inning—a fairy-tale ending to his Hall of Fame career. Trump jokingly asked if he could still take the mound anytime, and Kershaw laughed and said no, prompting Trump to call him a smart man.

In his prepared remarks, Trump detailed the Dodgers’ consecutive championship runs and recognized many key contributors. He praised Max Muncy for becoming the franchise’s all-time postseason home run leader and highlighted Shohei Ohtani’s near-perfect two-way performance in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series. Recalling the moment, Trump called it the greatest game he had ever seen by a single player, as Ohtani handled both pitching and hitting, and added that his legendary journey is far from over. Trump then turned to the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays. He commended Will Klein, the reliever who closed out the final four innings of the grueling six-hour Game 3 marathon. He also praised Freddie Freeman, whose walk-off home run in the 18th inning ended that epic clash. Heroes from the decisive Game 7 were also recognized: Miguel Rojas hit a game-tying home run in the ninth inning; Andy Pages, entering late in the game, made an incredible catch to force extra innings; and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who closed the door on short rest, earned the series MVP.

If the Dodgers succeed in achieving a three-peat this year, they will become the first team to win three consecutive World Series since the New York Yankees from 1998 to 2000. Trump noted that he experienced that dynasty alongside the late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner and believes the current Dodgers are doing something equally remarkable.

After securing back-to-back titles, the Dodgers have not rested on their laurels. During the last offseason, they signed the two biggest free agents on the market—closer Edwin Díaz and right fielder Kyle Tucker—adding significant firepower to their quest for a three-peat.
