Shohei Ohtani dominates the Diamondbacks with two-way performance, lowers ERA to 0.74 after sixth win of the season

Los Angeles Dodgers' two-way Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani once again displayed his complete "pitching and hitting" prowess today. Starting on the mound in an away game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, he delivered an outstanding six-inning performance with no runs allowed and six strikeouts. At the plate, he was equally relentless, recording three hits and drawing two walks, leading the Dodgers to a 7-0 victory over the Diamondbacks. "Pitcher Ohtani" secured his sixth win of the season.

Today, "Pitcher Ohtani" showed his dominance from the start, retiring 11 consecutive Diamondbacks batters and leaving them helpless until the bottom of the fourth inning with two outs. Diamondbacks hitter Gabriel Moreno seized an opportunity and smashed a hard double. Facing a scoring threat, Ohtani induced a groundout from slugger Nolan Arenado, successfully escaping the jam.

In the fifth inning, Ohtani once again retired the opposing lineup in order. With one out in the sixth, he allowed a walk and a hit, temporarily putting Diamondbacks runners on first and second. Ohtani then got Corbin Carroll to hit into a double play, preserving a scoreless outing. Overall, "Pitcher Ohtani" threw 89 pitches, with 58 strikes, allowing only two hits, recording six strikeouts, one walk, and no runs. His fastest pitch reached 100.4 mph, and his ERA dropped to an astonishing 0.74 after the game.

On the offensive side, "Hitter Ohtani" was equally destructive. In his first at-bat of the game, he hit an infield single to second base. Later, Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker launched a two-run homer in the second inning to break the deadlock and put the team ahead. In the top of the third, Ohtani drew a precise walk, followed by consecutive hits from teammates Andy Pages and Freddie Freeman that drove in two runs. Then, successive hits from Tucker and Max Muncy added another run, giving the Dodgers a three-run inning that secured the lead.

A fully unleashed Ohtani drew another walk and hit a single in his next two plate appearances before striking out in the top of the seventh. He then singled again in the top of the ninth. The Dodgers added two more runs in the seventh to extend the lead to 7-0, and relievers Jonathan Hernandez and Jack Dreyer pitched in relief to help the Dodgers secure their second straight win.
