Wilson is a highly anticipated star in track and field, setting the Under-18 world record in the outdoor 400m in 44.20 seconds last year, and at the age of 16 he competed in the Paris Olympics, setting the record for the youngest U.S. men's track and field entry.
Wilson did not disappoint, leading the way in the NB Grand Prix indoor 400m final in Boston, crossing the line with a new American high school record of 45.66 seconds, followed by compatriot Sang Mo in 46.27 seconds and Trinidad and Tobago Republic's Richardson bronze in 46.49 seconds.
The previous best indoor 400m U18 world record was 45.76 seconds, but now Wilson is the only teenager to break under 46 seconds, the second in history being Cooper's 46.01 seconds.
