Japanese football legend Kazuyoshi Miura, aged 58, continues his career in the J3 League, entering his 41st professional season.

Local Japanese media reported today that the 58-year-old evergreen striker Kazuyoshi Miura is set to join a J3 division club in Japan’s professional football league, beginning his 41st year as a professional player.

AFP states that Miura is nicknamed "King Kazu" by supporters, taken from his given name "Kazuyoshi." After playing last season with fourth-tier club Suzuka Point Getters, he will join Fukushima United on a one-year loan deal.

Although the signing has not been officially announced yet, it is expected that Miura will continue his tradition by revealing his transfer on January 11 at 11:11 AM next year, matching his iconic number 11 jersey.

The former Japanese national team forward will turn 59 officially in February next year. Last season, Miura made 7 appearances for Suzuka Point Getters, who were relegated to the regional leagues after finishing second to last and losing the playoffs.

Miura’s professional career began in 1986 when he joined Brazilian club Santos. Since then, he has played for clubs in Italy, Croatia, Australia, Portugal, and several other countries.

Kazuyoshi Miura was one of the key figures in the early days of the J.League, established in 1993, helping to elevate Japanese football onto the international stage.
