Nick Kurtz
Kurtz, who recently joined Shohei Ohtani as the only two players in AL history to win a Silver Slugger during their rookie year, was selected over his teammate Jacob Wilson and Boston Red Sox's Roman Anthony, securing all 30 first-place votes.
He is the first Athletics player to earn Rookie of the Year since Andrew Bailey in 2009 and the first Athletics hitter since shortstop Bobby Crosby in 2004.
The 22-year-old completed the 2025 season with a .290 batting average, an impressive 1.002 OPS, 36 home runs, and 86 RBIs over just 117 games.
Kurtz, nicknamed "Big Amish," also delivered one of the most remarkable hitting performances in baseball history in July when he went 6-for-6 with four home runs against the Houston Astros - a feat some consider to be the greatest hitting display in a single game ever recorded.
Drake Baldwin
Baldwin earned the award over Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Caleb Durbin and Chicago Cubs pitcher Cade Horton.
He received 21 first-place votes, while Durbin garnered the remaining nine.
Baldwin is the first catcher to win this award since Buster Posey in 2010 and is the third Braves' player in the last eight years (Michael Harris II - 2022, Ronald Acuna Jr. - 2018).
The 24-year-old assumed the starting role for Atlanta from Opening Day after Sean Murphy suffered cracked ribs during Spring Training.
Baldwin's 19 home runs ranked eighth among all catchers. His 80 RBIs were fourth at his position and the highest among rookies. He finished with a .274 batting average and a .810 OPS, ranking fourth-best among catchers (minimum 120 games).
