Munetaka Murakami, the powerful hitter from NPB's Tokyo Yakult Swallows, officially declared his challenge to Major League Baseball today through the posting system, becoming one of the most sought-after Japanese free agents. Although many speculate that the Los Angeles Dodgers might enter the bidding, ESPN veteran reporter Jeff Passan pointed out in his analysis that the Dodgers may not be Murakami’s ideal destination.

On the American talk show "The Rich Eisen Show," Passan said: "Maybe Murakami personally prefers the Dodgers, but the key question is, what position would he play?"
