Nguyễn Thùy Linh will not participate in the 2026 German Open.

The German Open is the tournament where Thùy Linh achieved great success by finishing as runner-up for two consecutive seasons.

Vietnam's top badminton player, Nguyễn Thùy Linh, will not compete in the Super 300 German Open 2026 held in Mulheim, Germany from February 24 to March 1.

Initially, Nguyễn Thùy Linh was listed among the participants alongside notable names such as world No. 2 Wang Zhiyi, former Olympic champion Chen Yufei, Han Yue, Pornpawee Chochuwong, Tomoka Miyazaki, and Gao Fangjie, among others. However, as of now, Thùy Linh's name appears in the withdrawal list displayed on the official BWF (Badminton World Federation) website.

Thùy Linh is the most prominent player in this withdrawal group, alongside Zhang Wenyu, Tanya Hemanth, Anmol Kharb, and others.

Currently, the "Vietnamese Badminton Beauty" has not made any official statement regarding this decision. She is still taking time to rest and prepare for the upcoming Lunar New Year.

The German Open is the tournament where Nguyễn Thùy Linh has achieved her greatest success on the Tour with two consecutive runner-up finishes (2024 and 2025).Notably, in the 2023 season, the 28-year-old player remarkably defeated former world No. 1 Ratchanok Intanon and Kim Ga-eun, who helped South Korea win the women's team gold at ASIAD 19, on her way to the final.

In the two title-deciding matches, Thùy Linh was defeated by Mia Blichfeldt and Yeo Jia Min respectively — both in straight games.

In 2026, Thùy Linh has competed in two tournaments: the Super 750 India Open (round of 16) and the Super 500 Indonesia Masters (quarterfinals). She did not participate in the Super 300 Thailand Masters last week and is expected to return at the prestigious Super 1000 All England Open held in Birmingham, UK, from March 3 to March 8.
